'SYMMETRIC' is an original digital illustration created during COVID lockdown in April 2020. Originally designed as a study for a series of paintings with the same title, these artworks were part of an exhibition titled ‘CONSTRUCT’ at Backwoods Gallery in Melbourne in September 2020.

‘SYMMETRIC’ is a study on the way our natural environment is framed, removed, altered and repurposed to suit the design and construction of modern human spaces. This series of works aim to examine the intentions behind this repurposing of our natural landscapes, and the way we as humans interact with and move through the built environments we replace them with.
