"I have recently committed a large portion of time experimenting with and refining my digital illustration processes to move my body of work forward in a new direction. Feeling nostalgic and recently being positively reminded of some of my past works, I looked back at the last 20 years and then infused some classic Beastman elements, patterns, colours, compositions and processes into these new digitally illustrated works. These works are the result of this enjoyable period spent going back to my old processes of drawing many thumbnail sketches in grid books first to develop interesting compositions. I also felt an urge to connect my recent personal human experiences to the work I am making. This lead me to explore themes and imagery associated with our human life journeys, the different pathways we take through our unique life landscapes, how the actions of us and others can alter these pathways, and the battlefield of emotions we have to navigate along the way. These new works present abstracted life forms with human figurative attributes, one ascending upward and the other descending downward through landscape, a visual portrayal of starting and completing, the beginning and the end, the cause and the effect, the rise and the fall. After completing these works I wanted to offer them as limited edition prints for other people to enjoy if they feel connected to the work."
