SEMINATURAL
Inner State Gallery
Detroit, USA
June 2016
Currently residing in Bali, Indonesia, Beastman’s 'Seminatural' body of work is heavily influenced by the beautiful surrounding coastal landscapes found throughout the 'Island of the Gods' as well as his original home of Australia.
Expressed through a distinctive style that has evolved over the last decade, Beastman’s colourful abstract works have developed through a disciplined repetitive process of measurement and balance. The result of this elaborate process is an interconnected series of vibrant paintings on wood that explore themes of biodiversity, geology, hemeroby, regeneration, human influence, growth and universal expansion.
This was Beastman's first US solo exhibition and was a split show at the gallery with New Zealand artist Askew One.
