GENESIS
The Tate Gallery
Sydney, Australia
July 2013
Presented by The Opening Hours, 'Genesis' is the latest instalment in the ongoing body of artwork by Sydney based artist Bradley Eastman (aka Beastman). This much anticipated exhibition features a series of paintings on wood further progressing the artist's distinctive style and exploring concepts surrounding the origins of life.
These vibrant, geometric and impressive paintings range in size from small to large, reflecting themes of generation and growth in the natural world, whilst communicating the futuristic and overwhelming idea of nature coming to life in a way could have never imagined.
The deities featured in Beastman's ambitious new works are a representation of lifeforms in nature progressing beyond the boundaries of our imagination, when the cosmic forces of nature eventually reveal the irrelevance of humanity in the universe.
